Congratulations on taking the next step towards your self care goals.

Although we are a team of incredibly skilled artists creating beautiful cosmetic tattoos, a part of your end results will come down to your pre-care and after care. Follow the simple instructions below for each procedure area to achieve the most out of your appointments. Your artist will provide you with in depth aftercare details at your appointment along with a good bag for your healing process.  Coming along to your appointment makeup free would be amazing and showing us your inspiration images is always welcome. We recommend bringing something warm to wear for during the procedure.

Please Note: You will be more sensitive during your menstrual cycle.

Brows

We can't wait to create your dream brows with you! Before we get started we have a few prep instructions for you, the right pre-care and aftercare can truly make a MASSIVE difference in the results.

The Prep: If you’ve ever hired a professional painter, they will tell you that “it’s all in the prep”. Professional painters know that they get the best results when they spend extra time sanding, filling holes, making sure edges are smooth and applying the right primer.  Well, cosmetic tattooing is very similar. You will get much better results when you properly prepare the area. It all starts with a good canvas! The eyebrow area must be healthy, strong, non-sensitive, and non-irritated.

Here’s how to get your skin ready for the procedure:

  •        Do not pick/tweeze/wax/perform electrolysis one week before the procedure

  •        Do not tan two weeks prior to the service, or have a sunburned face

  •        Do not have any type of facial 2 weeks prior to the procedure

  •        Do not work out the day of the procedure

  •        Do not have Botox/Dysport 2 weeks prior to the procedure

  •        Do not take Fish Oil or Vitamin E one week prior to the procedure (they are natural blood thinners)

  •        Do not wax or tint your eyebrows 3 days prior to the procedure.

In order to avoid excessive bleeding and poor colour deposit:

  •        Do not drink alcohol 24 - 48 hours before your tattoo

  •        Do not consume coffee before your procedure

  •       Do not take an Aspirin or Ibuprofen for pain relief (these also thin the blood)

We would love if you could come to your appointment makeup free if possible.

Lips

As a necessary precaution, we require ALL of our Beauty By Yuni Lip clients to take an anti-viral medication prior to procedure. Examples of antiviral medications: Zovirax, Famvir or Valtrex. Please see your nearest pharmacist to obtain these. There are absolutely NO exceptions to this rule! You must inform them of your decision to have permanent cosmetics applied to your lips.

PRE- CARE FOR LIPS

  •        Drink PLENTY of water through out the week before you appointment. Hydration is KEY.

  •        A gentle sugar scrub the night prior will do wonders for your lips.

  •        Apply a deep, non active ingredient moisturising lip balm before bed and continue to apply until your appointment time.

  •        Begin your Anti-Viral medication prior to procedure.

  •        Do not work out 48 hours before procedure.

  •        NO alcohol, caffeine or stimulants 48 hours before procedure (Yes, there is caffeine in decaf coffee and tea!).

  •        Avoid sun and tanning one week prior to procedure.

  •        Do not take Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E or Advil/Ibuprofen 48 hours before procedure.

  •        Avoid Fish Oil, Primrose Oil, Prenatal Vitamins, "Hair, Skin, Nail" supplements for a min. of 48 hours prior to procedure.

  •        Discontinue Retin-A, and Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) at least 6 weeks prior

  •        Wait a minimum 3 weeks after lip fillers & 2 weeks if any filler added at your follow up appointments.

  •        Wait six months after lip implant and get written clearance from your surgeon.

Eyes

Make sure you get a good nights rest in before any cosmetic tattoo appointment. A good sleep can be the difference between little to no discomfort and heightened sensitivity.

The Prep:

  •        It is recommended to eat something before your appointment to make sure your blood sugar levels stay stable during the procedure.

  •        No excessive alcohol or caffeine consumption 24 hours before your procedure. Alcohol and caffeine can thin the blood, which causes the skin to be hypersensitive, and bleed/bruise more easily.

  •        Avoid sun tanning one week prior to the procedure.

  •        Avoid blood thinning medications for 24 hours before the procedure. This includes Aspirin, Niacin (Vitamin B3), Vitamin E or Advil/Ibuprofen, fish oils tablets. Please consult your physician if this is an issue.

  •        Eyelash extensions should be removed 3 days prior to the procedure.

  •        No eyelash perm and/or tinting at least 3 days prior.

  •        Discontinue Retin-A one week prior to the procedure.

  •        No Botox around the eye area 2 weeks prior.

  •        Discontinue use of eyelash growth serums a min of 6 months prior to your eye liner or lash line appointment.

  •        Do not wear any eye makeup on the day of your appointment.

  •        If you wear contact lenses, please wear glasses on the day of your appointment
